Frontiers in Chemistry will make use of the unique Frontiers platform for open-access publishing and research networking for scientists, which provides an equal opportunity to seek, share and create knowledge. The mission of Frontiers is to place publishing back in the hands of working scientists and to promote an interactive, fair, and efficient review process. Articles are peer-reviewed according to the Frontiers review guidelines, which evaluate manuscripts on objective editorial criteria.
Frontiers in Chemistry publishes articles on the most outstanding discoveries across the entire research spectrum of Chemistry. The mission of Frontiers in Chemistry is to bring all relevant Specialties in Chemistry together on a single platform.
Frontiers in Chemistry is composed of the following Specialty Sections :
Frontiers in Analytical ChemistryFrontiers in Chemical BiologyFrontiers in Green and Environmental ChemistryFrontiers in Inorganic ChemistryFrontiers in Microbiological ChemistryFrontiers in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry
The Specialties of Frontiers in Chemistry welcome the following
tier 1 article types: Book Review, Classification, Editorial, General Commentary, Hypothesis & Theory, Methods, Mini Review, Opinion, Original Research, Perspective, Review, Specialty Grand Challenge and Technology Report.
When submitting an article to Frontiers in Chemistry, authors must submit the material directly to one of the Specialties. The articles are processed by the associate and review editors of the respective Specialty.
Original research articles published through the Specialties will be subjected to the
Frontiers Evaluation System after online publication. Authors of the
original research articles with the highest impact, as judged by many expert readers, will be invited by the Field Chief Editor of Frontiers in Chemistry to write a prestigious Frontiers
Focused Review - a tier 2 article. This is referred to as "
democratic tiering". The author selection is based on article-level impact metrics of Original Research published in the Frontiers Specialties. Focused Reviews are centered on the original discovery, place it in a wider context, and aim to address the wider audience across all of Chemistry.
