Frontiers in Neuroscience and Society - Mission Statement
Frontiers in Neuroscience and Society is a first-tier electronic journal devoted to promoting novel ideas and in-depth discussion concerning the implications of cutting-edge neuroscience research on society, present and future. It will also deal with the implications of cultural and social ambiences, needs and trends on brain, cognitive and behavioral research. The aforementioned issues are already of great importance and are bound to become even more so in the long run. Our journal welcomes contributions on topics such as the potential effects of brain research on education, technology and economy; health and well-being; the possible role of neuroscience literacy in decision making in the 21st century; ethical issues; future trends in artificial intelligence and bionics and their effects on the future of human society. We accept original research papers, reviews, conceptual discussions and position papers. Our journal is open to neuroscientists but also regards as one its major missions the promotion of an open scholarly dialogue with the social sciences, economy, education, philosophy, and, last but not least, with forgers of public opinion and with decision makers in society at large.
