A 10 day School on Advanced Theoretical and Computational Neuroscience grounded in Experimental Neuroscience. The School is being held with the support of the IBRO's Regional Committees of Africa, Europe and Asia/Pacific. The focus will be on "learning and memory - from experiment to models". This will be the maiden attempt in the IBRO framework to groom young researchers in Africa, Asia, Middle East, Australia and Europe in an area that we believe can give vital insight into the complexities of neuroscience and also help experimentalists in designing more computationally useful experiments. We believe that the number of researchers in this area is below the critical mass and must escalate considerably. A world-class group of lecturers from Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa will provide students a view into the state of art on how the brain processes, stores and retrieves information showing how to model and simulate these processes from experimental insights and to apply them to robotics and other intelligent devices. THE INVITED TEACHERS: Europe: Patrick Aebischer; Javier De Felipe; Abdul Mohammed; Walter Senn; Erwin Neyer; Rodney Douglas; Sean Hill; Henry Markram; Felix Shurmann; Klaus Pawelzik; Andreas Herz; Wulfram Gerstner; Pierre Magistretti; Richard Frackowiak; Stanislas Dehaene; Karlheinz Meier; Alex Thomson; Susan Sara; Kamila Markram Middle East: Haim Sompolinksy; Idan Segev; Misha Tsodyks; Yadin Dudai Asia: Upi Bhalla; Menahem Segal; Markus Diesmann; Mitsuo Kawato; Mu-Ming Poo; Vipin Srivastava; Changsong Zhou; Kenji Doya; Tomoki Fukai; Thomas McHugh Australia: Greg Stuart; Steve Redman Africa: Dan Stein; Paul Manger; Dirk Lang; Vivienne Russel; Alison Bentley
