Announcements!

Over 1,400 complimentary copies of the printed second issue of Frontiers in Neuroscience Journal were sent out. The third complimentary issue is expected to be published in December 2008, with over fifteen superb publications. Subscribe on-line if you wish a personal copy in the coming year.

Neuroscience-related conferences are now being advertised on Frontiers, thus allowing you to follow all the latest meetings, conferences and events throughout the world. Please see: ( frontiersin.org/conferences )

Frontiers also offers the opportunity to publish citable conference abstracts, free of charge and these receive a DOI and are registered with CrossRef (www.crossref.org). Should you wish to take advantage of this service, please send us the conference details, abstracts and the conference logo to: conferences@frontiersin.org.

The Neuroinformatics 2008 conference, held in Stockholm, on September 7-9, 2008, was the first to take advantage of publishing their conference abstracts and also their abstract book with Frontiers: (http://www.frontiersin.org/conferences/individual_conference_listing.php?confid=2&ind=1)

Frontiers is officially registered with PubMed, the articles are being entered into the Pubmed archive and should appear shortly. Frontiers registration can be viewed at: PubMed (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez ), then search under "Journals" for "Frontiers".

In the past 10 months, since Frontiers launch, well over 200 articles have been submitted and more than 140 articles were published. New Releases!

Frontiers has opened new article types for publishing:

General Commentaries: You may now submit a general commentary on any of your own or someone else’s article published in other journals. This is a good way to draw attention to your work or to discuss the work published by others.

Conference Reports: Conference organizers are invited to publish a summary of the highlights from their conference. This helps keep the entire community abreast of what is going on world-wide.

Initiative Reports: There are many important initiatives around the world in neuroscience. Directors of neuroscience initiatives, consortia etc... are invited to publish an official report on their Initiative.
