Currently 18 fish species are found in the basins of Rivers Aghstev and Debed flowing in the territory of the Republic of Armenia: Capoeta capoeta, Barbus cyri, Luciobarbus mursa, Gobio sp., Pseudorasbora parva, Alburnus filippii, Alburnus hohenackeri, Leucaspius delineatus, Alburnoides eichwaldii, Squalius orientalis, Carassius gibelio, Cyprinus carpio, Abramis brama, Oxynoemacheilus brandtii, Cobitis sp., Sabanejewia aurata, Salmo trutta fario, Oncorhynchus mykiss. The species composition of fish in different parts of the rivers vary depending on the geographical location (height of the sea) and separate ecological (water temperature) and anthropogenic factors (unorganized acclimatization activities, mining, small hydropower plants, poaching). At the same time, seasonal changes in fish species and fish shoal is observed in the investigated rivers.
