Abstract eBook of the 18th International Congress of Immunology - IUIS 2023

The 18th International Congress of Immunology – IUIS – was held in Cape Town, South Africa, from 27th November to 2nd December 2023. The Congress scientific programme comprised a wide range of topics in immunology, from response to infection to drug and vaccine development, under the general motto ‘Turning Discoveries into Treatments’. In turn, our theme further encompasses studies of human diseases, involving immune networks, microbiomes and genetic variation that can also inform basic immunology. By so doing, we aimed to harness the connectivity between basic immunology and human health. The Congress successfully reflected the variety of global exceptional challenges for immunology and we believe that this focus and theme can provide new inspiration to the global immunology community.
