This book contains the abstracts presented at the 1st International Symposium on Physical Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (IS-PAIR 2025), held in Rayong at the Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC), Thailand, in January 2025. The objective of the interdisciplinary symposium is to provide an international forum for students or outstanding scientists and engineers around the world who are interested in the field of physical artificial intelligence, i.e., physical bodies (robotics) and their interaction with the brain and real world for bio-inspired intelligent machines. All aspects of physical artificial intelligence, robotics, material science, bio-inspired structural design, and their application areas are welcome, including, but not limited to, the following topics: Embodied Intelligence, Bio-Inspired Robotics, Adaptive Systems and Control, Artificial Neural Networks, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Multi-Agent Systems, Intelligent Robots, Smart and Soft Materials, Nanomaterials, Bio-inspired Structures, Biomimetic Sensors and Actuators, Sensory Integration, and Artificial Muscles. This conference and its proceedings would not exist without the substantial help of a wide range of people. Foremost, we would like to thank the members of the Program Committee, who thoughtfully reviewed all the submissions and provided detailed suggestions on how to improve the abstracts. We are also indebted to our sponsors. We invite readers to enjoy and profit from the abstracts in this book and look forward to the next IS-PAIR conference in 2026.
