We are looking for a Publishing Partnerships Manager, based in our London or Lausanne offices. Reporting to the Publishing Director, you will be responsible for analyzing potential publishing partnerships, preparing proposals based on Frontiers publishing platform and service offer, and engaging with strategic stakeholders to drive new business opportunities. As a result, we are looking for someone with exceptional project management skills, who is results-driven as well as personable. Candidates require previous experiences in the academic publishing industry ideally with a track record of working with external stakeholders in providing publishing services. This newly created position is a great opportunity to work closely with senior management at Frontiers in establishing us as an ideal and sought-after solution for external publishing partners.

As part of the Editorial Office, our new colleague in this role will:

• Analyse external market data and assess competitive intelligence research, determine relevance and deliver reports to stakeholders in collaboration with the Market Intelligence team

• Prepare proposals in response to requests for tenders from external partners to pitch Frontiers publishing platform and services

• Meet and engage with external stakeholders to understand their editorial and business needs and seek new opportunities for publishing partnerships


Requirements

Key skills and competencies needed:

- minimum 3 years in publishing, ideally with work experience in publishing partnerships, an academic higher-level degree

- excellent project management skills, ability to juggle short and long-term objectives and overlapping deadlines

- tech savvy, with a good understanding of cloud-based platforms at the principle level (able to give a strong presentation)

- well-honed analytic skills (bibliometrics) with a keen eye for strategic insights and business opportunities

- outgoing, dynamic personality that enjoys network building and easily grasps business needs of potential partners

- works well across company teams and enjoys close collaborations with senior management to translate their vision in action

- strong presentation and negotiation skills, and a concise, clear writing style

- target oriented with the capacity to apply focused sales strategies

- available for frequent travel
