Process and Documentation specialist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and process driven professional for the full-time position of Process and Documentation specialist, located in our Lausanne office.

The position will provide the successful candidate with an excellent opportunity to experience a career in scientific publishing with an innovative, technology-driven Open Access publisher. Reporting directly to the Editorial Director and supporting the operations of the Editorial Office (Journal Development and Peer Review), the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing a variety of tasks to monitor and incorporate changes, revisions to team documentation, including standard operating procedures documents and workflow diagrams as well as user guidelines
  • Providing business support and project management for optimization of processes
  • Managing a budget for Frontiers’ fee-waiver program and its associated processes and author interface
  • Reporting to the Editorial Director and will closely collaborate with the senior leadership in the Editorial Office


  • Bachelors degree in any field, preferably in Business Administration, Accounting, General Studies or related field, or an associates degree with combined work experience, or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
  • Strong decision-making abilities and diplomatic skills
  • Proactive and independent whilst being a strong team player
  • Experience in documentation maintenance, data organization and storage
  • Proficient in computer software programs such as word processors, spreadsheet programs, and database systems (Camunda or Lucidchart a plus)
  • Experience in project management
