The Senior Manager for Content Acquisition leads multiple programs of Research Topic journal teams, driving them to meet or exceed their annual Special Issue commissioning targets. The Senior Manager for Content Acquisition functions in a broad stakeholder environment, representing the interest of their programs within the company and providing an effective interface with the other departments in addition to bringing strategic value to the programs that they lead.

We are looking for a self-starter who has previous line management experience and is ready to jump right in and take our commissioning team to the next level. You will have line management responsibility for a group of Team Leads who face the challenge of managing a rapidly growing, sales oriented, team and require your hands-on support in this. The ideal candidate would thrive in a fast-paced environment and in coaching employees to reach ambitious sales targets.


  • Contributing to developing department level strategic plans, policies and new initiatives
  • Defining, implementing and monitoring policies and procedures to ensure quality, efficiency, and scalability
  • Monitoring of program targets and timely flagging of issues arising with progress
  • Actively providing solutions and strategies to meet annual targets
  • Inspiring and providing guidance to Team Leads towards better performance and career development
  • Managing capabilities and resources in response to changing business dynamics
  • Acting as an escalation point for issue resolution from the program
  • Overseeing adequate staffing levels for the programs which they lead
  • Leads projects with other departments
  • Coordinating with RT Marketing to ensure healthy pipelines in order to reach commissioning targets
  • Representing the company and Research Topic Department in an official role to external stakeholders
