ABSTRACT=The syntheses of two new squaramide-naphthalimide conjugates (SQ1 and SQ2) are reported where both compounds have been shown to act as selective fluorescence ‘turn on’ probes for bromide in aqueous DMSO solution through a disaggregation induced response.
