However, the natural resources are gradually exhausted due to over utilization, which will produce a series of negative impacts on environment and resources using and reduce the momentum of urban economic development. To realize the long-term sustainable development of cities and avoid falling into the "resource curse", cities often take measures such as industrial structure adjustment and technological upgrading to promote their transformation. Taking Benxi City as an example,we analyzed its environmental impact and transformation measures, and discussed the successful cases of the transformation of global mineral resource-based cities. We put forward a series of policy suggestions, and summarize possible approaches to transformation of resources-based cities.
