Mediation analysis highlights green technology innovation and industrial upgrading as critical mitigating mechanisms.DiscussionFindings advocate context-specific policies prioritising energy efficiency during digital emergence and advanced technology promotion in mature contexts, providing empirical groundwork for balancing digital economic benefits with environmental sustainability objectives.
