The Genomic Endocrinology section welcomes original research or reviews addressing: Novel genetic/genomic techniques applied to endocrine disorders; Functional studies of genetic mutations shedding light on aetiopathogenesis of endocrine disease; Population-wide genomic/epigenomic association studies; Pharmacogenomic and precision medicine studies; Model organism genetic studies addressing mechanisms or therapies for endocrine disease; Studies of single patients or families with novel mutations of particular interest
In an era of transformational advance in genetic technologies, this crosscutting section is devoted to the insights gained into endocrine physiology and pathology from the full range of genomic, genetic (and/or epigenomic/epigenetic) approaches. The section welcomes original research or reviews encompassing novel genetic or epigenetic mechanisms leading to endocrine disease, novel genetic/genomic techniques applied to the study of endocrine disorders, functional studies of genetic mutations yielding novel insights into the aetiopathogenesis of endocrine disorders, or population-wide genomic/epigenomic association studies. Studies describing single patients or families with novel mutations of particular interest will also be considered. The section also encourages submission of pharmacogenomic studies, model organism genetic studies addressing mechanisms or therapies for endocrine disorders, and cohort studies reporting novel genetic associations with established endocrine phenotypes.

Genomic Endocrinology welcomes submissions of the following article types: Clinical Study Protocol, Clinical Trial, Correction, Editorial, General Commentary, Hypothesis and Theory, Methods, Mini Review, Opinion, Original Research, Perspective, Protocols, Review, Systematic Review and Technology Report.
All manuscripts must be submitted directly to the section Genomic Endocrinology, where they are peer-reviewed by the Associate and Review Editors of the specialty section.
Articles published in the section Genomic Endocrinology will benefit from the Frontiers impact and tiering system after online publication. Authors of published original research with the highest impact, as judged democratically by the readers, will be invited by the Chief Editor to write a Frontiers Focused Review - a tier-climbing article. This is referred to as "democratic tiering". The author selection is based on article impact analytics of original research published in all Frontiers specialty journals and sections. Focused Reviews are centered on the original discovery, place it into a broader context, and aim to address the wider community across all of Endocrinology and Genetics.
