Abstract

This research explores how value-based compensation influences hospital departmental operational efficiency. The results show that value-based compensation significantly enhances hospital departmental operational efficiency. We argue that this positive effect is related to improved resource utilization efficiency, increased innovation research output, and enhanced hospital working efficiency. Moreover, when the departmental knowledge value is high, the positive effect of value-based compensation on hospital departmental operational efficiency becomes more pronounced. Further analysis reveals that when a department is designated as either a higher-level key department or a staff-intensive department, value-based compensation has a stronger positive effect on hospital departmental operational efficiency. This study provides a significant reference for improving salary design and hospital departmental operational efficiency.
