In line with the Law, Gender and Sexuality (LEX) Research Network mission statement, Society & Social Change is a platform for feminist academics and researchers interested in developing and supporting trans and interdisciplinary scholarship located at the intersection of law, gender, and sexuality.
A core component of our editorial vision entails a commitment to the feminist principles of social justice, ethics, equality, and rights. Our mission is to champion innovative feminist analyses of the intersections of law, gender, and sexuality at the domestic, international, and transnational levels, drawing upon a range of disciplines. We aim is to publish feminist scholarship that raises new questions in the field, and that promotes new ways of ‘thinking’ and ‘doing’ research. What makes Society & Social Change cutting edge is not just that it aims to advance trans and interdisciplinary feminist thinking on law, gender, and sexuality analyses, but rather it is its effort to stimulate new conceptual and methodological approaches to feminist research that serve as catalysts for social justice and social transformation through our commitment to ‘good trouble’.
Society & Social Change aims to publish high-quality, creative, and ground-breaking articles. The editorial board invites submissions from authors that puncture conceptual lacuna and that challenges intellectual barriers both methodologically and theoretically and from a broad range of feminist perspectives. We welcome submissions from all authors who promote vigorous and innovative scholarly debate in this field globally. This includes early career researchers and students as well as those who work outside the academy such as independent researchers and practitioners. In keeping with this ethos, the editorial board applies a rigorous peer-review process that is both ethical and transparent. This means that the author and the reviewer adhere to the spirit of productive engagement in scholarly dialogue. Therefore, we invite original articles from a variety of standpoints, perspectives, and methods at the intersection of law, gender, and sexuality research and in its relationship with other disciplines.
These include, but are not limited to:
· The arts
· Climate change
· Human geography
· Migration studies
· Communications studies
· Criminology and
· Social policy.
