ABSTRACT=Hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae(hvKP) causes invasive infection and leads to high rates of morbidity and mortality. We reported a Chinese man with diabetes mellitus who developed ARDS and septic shock due to hvKP belonging to K1 strain. He was treated by vv-ECMO, CRRT in combination with antibiotics and recovered well. Clinicians should be aware of fatal infection caused by hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae and investigate the best treatment options for patients at various stages of infection.
