PM-related fundus diseases have become a leading cause of irreversible blindness. Early detection and treatment are crucial for the prevention and control of myopia. Recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), particularly in machine learning and deep learning algorithms, have shown promising results in the field of PM in ophthalmology. This review explores the latest developments in AI technology for managing PM, emphasizing its role in screening and diagnosis, grading and classification, and predictive assessment. AI has shown significant potential for clinical application in PM management, enhancing its intelligent, precise, and efficient practices.
