The flourishing of the individual human person, the health of human society, and the ecological well being of planet earth are all inextricably connected with the issues of human population, sexuality, and reproduction. Understanding and effectively communicating about these issues is of central importance for scientists, clinicians, and policy makers of all nationalities, ethnicities, and cultures.
The specialty section on Population, Reproductive, and Sexual Health is an academic hub for the dissemination and discussion of data and evidence-based perspectives in these domains. We prioritize the presentation and peer review of good science, and do not seek to promote any specific ideology. We welcome fair-minded and open dialogue about the quality and interpretation of evidence from all disciplines and cultural and ethical perspectives. Disciplines particularly suited for contributions to this section include but are not limited to demography, epidemiology, sociology, psychology, family planning, family medicine, women’s health, gynecology, men’s health, and reproductive medicine. We focus on scientific work in humans and human populations, but we may also consider relevant contributions from other domains that have direct relevance to human populations. We encourage transdisciplinary work, and papers that address the intersection of different cultural and intellectual perspectives.
