The sensor achieved a perfect narrow-band absorption spectrum at 5.92 THz with high quality factor of 49.6, it showed ultra-sensitive performance on the variation of refractive index and thickness of the surface analyte with sensitivity of 1800 GHz/RIU and figure of merit value of 15. Additionally, for a typical biomedical analyte of n = 1.3, the sensitivity was 134 GHz/µm. The excellent properties promise its significant practical applications in ultra-sensitive THz biomedical sensors and detectors.
