Politics of Technology and Sustainability publishes rigorously peer-reviewed research that addresses the governance of emerging technologies with respect to their ethical, economic, environmental, social and cultural impacts.
Emerging technologies are an increasing concern for political scientists and are particularly salient to the politics of sustainability, which entails enhancing the resilience of natural and social systems while conserving their core values and relationships.
Technologies that are of interest to the section include but are not limited to:
We welcome research grounded in the social sciences, the humanities, law, as well as interdisciplinary approaches and orientations. We encourage submissions that examine emerging technologies from across the spectrum of political science fields and methodologies.

It is fitting that the section is part of the Frontiers family of open-access journals. The path-breaking scholarship it publishes constitute expeditions into unsettled territories.
While we provide an outlet for scholarship that will be widely read and cited by faculty and students in diverse academic disciplines, we also reach out to an audience that includes policy makers, technological innovators, developers and engineers, public, private and non-profit sector leaders, and journalists.
