ABSTRACT=The most sustainable engine of economic growth in Europe, the German government and its citizens attach great importance to their own environmental problems, which are usually raised to the height of national strategy. However, the outside world is not clear about the research of environmental problems in Germany. Chinese scholars also lack effective countermeasures and suggestions on how to carry out environmental protection cooperation between China and Germany under the Belt and Road Initiative to draw a sustainable environmental global drain. In this paper, Citespace, a visual tool for document statistical analysis, is used to analyze the research results of environmental protection published by German scholars during the decade from 2008 to 2018, and the results are included in Web of Science Network, and finally a visual map is drawn. This paper analyzes the status quo, research institutions, key words, research hotspots and research trends of international cooperation in environmental research in Germany, and provides sustainable thoughts and countermeasures on how to further strengthen Sino-German environmental protection exchange and cooperation.
