A total of 680 families with 5-year-old children took part in the study. Data were collected from participants selected from preschools and "zero" classes. The aim of this study was to check whether the involvement of parents in physical activity moderates the influence of parental attitudes on the way their children spend their leisure time. The number of hours spent on PA per month by the mother or father made no statistically significant impact on the child’s leisure time with or without PA, and no correlation was found between parental attitudes and PA goals. In fathers, only 4 attitudes had an impact on PA goals. Mothers’ goals were influenced by a greater number of attitudes. Similarly, mothers’ and fathers’ acceptance–rejection, autonomy, and excessively protective attitudes had an impact on their PA goals, but were not directly linked to their children’s leisure PA. Not all parental attitudes had a direct impact on the leisure time with and without PA of children. The goals of parents' PA turned out to influence the leisure time of children with and without PA.
