Frontiers reaches 6.4 on Journal Impact Factors
The Infectious Diseases section within Frontiers in Microbiology provides a publication platform for high-quality research on infectious diseases, which encompass the broad spectrum of host-microbe interaction from dysbiotic conditions to “classical” and newly-emerging infections. Thus research findings that contribute to our understanding of the encounter between microorganisms and the human host are the focus of this section. Studies integrating cellular, molecular, regulatory, biochemical and proteomic aspects of infection and host responses as well as studies on relevant animal models are welcome. Please note that infectious disease aspects such as surveillance, prevention and treatment are considered by Frontiers in Medicine and Frontiers in Public Health in the specialty section ”Infectious Diseases – Surveillance, Prevention and Treatment”. Epidemiological studies are also considered by Frontiers in Public Health, specialty section ”Epidemiology”. Manuscripts on veterinary infectious diseases are considered by the corresponding section in Frontiers in Veterinary Science. These medical journals also consider Case Reports, which we normally do not.
