About this Research Topic
The International Student Energy Summit 2019 is an interdisciplinary summit created for students by students. Our mission? To spearhead the energy transition towards a more sustainable and equitable future.
This year’s summit is held in London and over the course of four days, 650 delegates from all corners of the world will attend inspiring talks from +50 academic, industry and policy leaders. Our programme encompasses industry & technology, society & environment, markets & finance, and youth empowerment. We are the wave of change that is taking the energy world by storm.
The International Student Energy Summit 2019 vision is breaking barriers and stimulating discussion towards a sustainable future. The summit aims to inspire, empower and drive change. In order to achieve these aims we are offering delegates the opportunity to submit research abstracts which will be reviewed by a team of guest editors. The best abstracts will be invited to submit manuscripts to be published in a Research Topic: ‘Breaking Barriers: An Interdisciplinary Approach to the Energy Transition’.
The International Student Energy Summit 2019 champions an interdisciplinary approach and we encourage delegates to follow suit with their interdisciplinary research! You will have the opportunity to publish your work in the following speciality sections:
- Carbon Capture, Storage, and Utilization
- Energy Systems and Policy
- Smart Grids
Abstracts must be submitted by the 31st of July and these will then will be reviewed by the team of guest editors. The 10 best abstracts will be invited to submit manuscripts which will be published in the special issue collection. The submission of abstracts is free of change, as is the manuscript. Article processing charges are only incurred upon acceptance of the manuscript to publication. Please note we have an active waivers program for those who do not have the means or dedicated grant money to cover the fees and they are welcome to apply for a waiver here.
The energy revolution is happening now. We are empowering young people to break the barriers that stand in its way. This is a fantastic opportunity for delegates to showcase their work and contribute to the lasting legacy and impact of SES 2019.
