Sustainable Catalytic Processes and Technologies (CCESC2020)

About this Research Topic

This 5th Edition of the International Symposium on Catalysis for Clean Energy and Sustainable Chemistry (CCESC2020), a biennial scientific symposium, to be scheduled from June 28 to July 1, 2020, in Torremolinos-Málaga (Spain), will be focused on innovative catalytic processes for the transformation of biomass into biofuels and bioproducts, together with those related to environmental catalysis, hydrogen and carbon dioxide, including the development of new catalysts and the main molecular and technological aspects associated with these processes and technologies. In summary, this symposium aims at identifying and reviewing the most recent advances on these themes, and discussing the possible future directions that contribute to the sustainable development of society, where chemical industry must play a key role.

This International Symposium is an encounter between eminent scientists from international companies, universities, business sector and scientific institutions, where the breakthrough discoveries in biomass transformation by using sustainable catalytic technologies and processes, along with the most outstanding advances on environmental catalysis and the hydrogen and carbon dioxide uses will be discussed during three fruitful days. It will be a great opportunity to share knowledge and build new collaborations in these research areas. The Symposium is organized around Plenary (from academia) and Keynotes (from industry) lectures, taught by eminent scientists from the different scientific areas addressed in the congress, and oral/poster communications, which will be evaluated by an International Scientific Committee.

This symposium will be organized around the following topics:

• Sustainable catalytic technologies (processes and catalyst development) for biomass conversion
• Environmental catalysis
• Hydrogen: production, storage and uses
• CO2 as raw material (capture, utilisation and storage)

The International Scientific Committee will select, among all oral/poster communications presented at the CCESC2020, those that due to their scientific quality and relevance could be published in the Research Topics that will be devoted to the topics addressed in the congress.
