About this Research Topic
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is part of the digitalization of industry and has the potential to assist companies in achieving a disruptive transformation in performances, but also in value generation improving the business model, such as customer experience and interactions, plant operations administration, research and development.
The present issue is devoted to the discussion of theoretical approaches, industrial experiences both as state of the art and new developments related to the adoption of Al in industry.
We invite submissions of Original Research and Review articles. Potential contributions may include, but are not limited to, the impact of AI on:
• humans/operators
• processes and products
• plant and plant operations
• value chains
• organisation in factories and companies.
Existing barriers and threats of the use of Al in the industry will be also of interest.
