Composite Nanomaterials: Tailoring, Fabrication and Catalytic Applications

Due to their composition and chemical/structural flexibility, composite nanomaterials are gaining significant interest for utilization in various applications. Recently, the integration of the composite components has resulted in enhanced efficiency in separation, storage, sensing, and selective catalysis. With cross-cutting strategies, where structural engineering and sophisticated processing are synergistically combined, scientists have been able to tailor composite systems of different shapes and size ranges, chemical composition, functionalization, and morphology for specific applications. Composite materials represent not only a new area of fundamental research but also, thanks to their impressive properties and multi-functional nature, offer opportunities for various novel applications in varied fields.

The very large set of accessible composite materials span a wide spectrum of properties which yield the emergence of innovative industrial applications in various domains. The description and discussion of the fabrication and major applications of the composites are the major subjects of this Research Topic. The very broad variety of available composite materials spans a broad variety of features that lead to the creation of innovative industrial applications in different fields. The description, manufacturing, and major applications of the composites is the primary topic of this research.

In this research topic, we, therefore, welcome papers on developed and novel nanomaterial composites that possess state-of-the-art in catalysis. We also encourage the submission of review articles describing the current topic used in or developed for applications of this nature. This research topic welcomes original research and reviews articles, on the tailoring and synthesis of composites nanomaterial for various catalytic applications, with a focus on, but not limited to, the following research areas:

• Tailoring and development of composite nanomaterials.
• Synthesis of composite nanomaterials for catalytic applications
• Graphene composites and their catalytic applications.
• Polymer composite nanomaterials for catalysis and/or water treatment.
• Applications of metal-organic frameworks/2D graphene composites.
• Environmental composites.
