About this Research Topic
The primary goal of this research topic is to further the knowledge of the clinical and scientific communities by collating the current research on both approved therapeutics and those still in clinical research. A secondary goal is to examine the compounds and devices still in preclinical development to give practitioners a preview of what’s next and foster opportunities for collaboration. This topic encompasses all primary headache disorders and post-concussion headaches.
We are seeking manuscripts examining novel treatments for headache disorders that have been approved, are in clinical development or are likely to emerge from preclinical research. Manuscripts may fall into the following categories (or other categories with prior approval):
Phase II or III studies
Reviews comparing the efficacy and safety of approved medications
Longitudinal studies of the efficacy and safety of new classes of medications or devices
Registry studies examining patient-reported outcomes
Bench or animal studies of potential novel therapeutic targets
Keywords: Headache, Acute, Preventive, Pharmacology, Treatment
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
