AHP, Fuzzy AHP and their Applications on Energy, Environment and Sustainability

Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) has been one of the most popular multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) method because of its various advantages such as decomposing the complex MCDM problem into different hierarchies with different criteria/factors, combining both subject judgments and objective evaluation and incorporating the opinions of the decision-makers. However, the users of AHP usually have to employ the numbers 1 to 9 and their reciprocals for determining the comparison matrix, and it also has some drawbacks and challenges associated with them. Nowadays, both AHP and fuzzy AHP methods have been widely used in energy, environmental and sustainability domains to address the decision-making related problems, sustainability assessment and prioritization in different scales.

In-spite of the fact that AHP and fuzzy AHP methods are widely used for energy, environment and sustainability applications, these methods have certain drawbacks and challenges associated with them like difficulty in assuring that the established comparison matrix are consistent, difficulty for the users to use a single number to describe the relative priority. The aim of this collection is introducing the world of science with the latest achievements in AHP and fuzzy AHP methods in terms of methodology improvement, comprehend latest areas of application, and conclusive impact on the society because of their application to address the prevailing challenges. This Research Topic of papers will present the maximum achieved success along with the still existing barriers of these methods. The researchers and emerging intellectuals will be able to scratch out the new ideas for future revolutions.

We welcome papers focusing on AHP, fuzzy AHP and their applications on energy, environment and sustainability, the topics include but not limited to:
• AHP, fuzzy AHP or their application on energy, environment and sustainability
• The combinations of AHP and other MCDM method and their applications on energy, environment and sustainability, the combinations of Fuzzy AHP and other MCDM method and their applications on energy, environment and sustainability, and the improved AHP or fuzzy AHP methods and their appli-cations on energy, environment and sustainability;
• The selection and ranking of technologies and processes based on AHP or fuzzy AHP, sustainability assessment based on AHP or fuzzy AHP, and the theoretical studies on AHP or fuzzy AHP methods.

The welcomed article types include but are not limited to Data Reports, General Commentaries, Methods, Original Research, Perspectives, Policy and Practice Reviews, Policy Briefs, Reviews.
