The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has become a huge threat all over the world as a pandemic, which also could cause venous thromboembolism (VTE), including pulmonary embolism (PE). There have been several studies from some countries which have reported quite high proportions of patients developing VTE. However, there is still limited data on this important topic. Furthermore, based on the concept of a high risk for VTE occurrence in patients with COVID-19, some studies reported the potential benefit of anticoagulation for the primary prevention of VTE. However, the optimal strategies for the prevention of VTE in COVID-19 still remain unknown. Further studies including all types of articles would be welcomed to enhance the knowledge of COVID-19 and VTE. We expect the latest original data and review from any countries all over the world, and we also expect domestic issues in each country.

Keywords: COVID-19, venous thromboembolism, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, anticoagulant
