About this Research Topic
An effective surveillance and reporting system is required at national and sub-national levels to reduce the prevalence of tropical and infectious diseases. For example, many countries have utilized health information systems or digital health approaches to track and trace the incidence of such diseases and report it to the concerned authorities. However, very few studies have been done that evaluate the effectiveness of surveillance and reporting systems.
The goal of this Research Topic is to understand the effectiveness of innovative and locally relevant surveillance and reporting systems at national and subnational levels in reducing the prevalence of (neglected) tropical and infectious diseases in endemic countries.
Original research articles, perspectives, review articles, and commentaries are solicited from global researchers whose work is related to the surveillance and reporting of (neglected) tropical and infectious diseases. Researchers may submit the findings of routine national or local surveys that collect and analyze spatial and temporal data on disease patterns.
