Risk management, analysis and assessment aims to identify, evaluate, analyze and prioritize the risks in different fields for minimizing, controlling and predicting the potential impacts caused by risks and unfortunate events. Risk management has been widely used into different fields, i.e., project management, financial markets, new product/service design, accidents, natural disaster and credit risk, et al. Risk management, analysis and assessment are beneficial for the stakeholders/decision-makers to understand the overall risks and draft appropriate policies and take effective measures for risk control mitigation. Risk management, analysis and assessment should be carried out in a multi-stakeholder, multi-dimensional and multi-scale perspective approach, because it involves the preferences of multiple decision-makers and multiple indicators from different dimensions, and risk management, analysis and assessment should also be carried out in different scales including individual level, organizational level, regional level, national level and global level. Therefore, Risk management, analysis and assessment is a complex decision-making problem which usually involves multiple interacted and interdependent factors. Accordingly, the studies on multi-criteria decision making on risk management, analysis and assessment is of vital importance. However, it lacks an in-depth summary on how to use multi-criteria decision making methods for risk management, risk identification, risk assessment and risk analysis.
There are current three major research gaps:
(i) the scientific methods for identifying the risks, investigating their roles, analyzing the interdependent relationships among different risk and proposing countermeasures for risk mitigation;
(ii) the applications of multi-criteria decision making methods on risk management, assessment and analysis, especially the applications of multi-criteria decision analysis methods on quantitative risk assessment under different conditions (certainty and uncertainties);
(iii) the scientific models/methods for risk control and mitigation.
After collecting all the submission to this Research Topic, all the all the latest research on risk identification, risk analysis, risk assessment, risk management, risk control and risk mitigations can be presented to the readers.
In order to build a forum for sharing the latest theories and practice of risk management, assessment, analysis, control and mitigation for the scientist, researchers, government and industries, we welcome all papers related to the theory and practice of risks management , the topics of this collection include but not limited to:
