About this Research Topic
I have investigated water flows through micro-orifices from the view point of fluid mechanics.
In these investigations, I have found that organic matter comes out in and around the orifice. This phenomenon is considered organic synthesis in which the raw materials are CO2 and N2 in air, and the working factor is electrons or hydrogen radicals produced in the water flow through micro-orifices. Considering this phenomenon from a wider view point, we realize that the organic synthesis is processed at or in the vicinity of the interface between flowing water and relatively static solid wall. The friction generated by the flow between solution and solid wall is important, thus fluid mechanics and chemistry should be combined.
This Research Topic aims to explore this phenomenon, in particular the effect of orifice flow velocity, orifice material, and orifice size on the phenomenon, and whether mesh screens provide a similar phenomenon as is observed at the orifices studied, including theoretical analysis. Additionally, the applications of the organic synthesis and development of the phenomenon into a new method of organic synthesis. Ultimately given the raw materials involved in the organic synthesis, it is hoped to shine a light on this phenomenon from the point of origin of life.

• Applications of organic synthesis by the water flow through micro-orifices
• Development of the present organic synthesis by the water flow through micro-orifices to a new method of organic synthesis
• Theoretical analysis of the organic synthesis by the water flow through micro-orifices or by the water flow at or in the vicinity of solid walls
• To shine a light on the organic synthesis by the water flow through micro-orifices from the point of origin of life
