Dizziness and vertigo are common symptoms in older people and affect their health and quality of life. Dizziness and vertigo increase the risk of falls by affecting balance and gait. In addition, vestibular disorders can affect patients' cognition and mental health, as has already been demonstrated by an increasing number of studies.

To date, the assessment strategy for elderly patients with dizziness and vertigo has not been fully developed. Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) combining balance, gait, cognitive function and psychology aspects of elderly patients and early rehabilitation to prevent later falls are needed. This Research Topic aims to collect applications of CGA covering part or all of the following aspects of balance, gait, psychological effects, cognition, sensory function, vision, and physical frailty in older people with dizziness and vertigo according to current diagnostic criteria. In the meantime, we also welcome submissions that address the early phase of rehabilitation for fall prevention.

Topics of interest include:
- Epidemiological investigation of dizziness and vertigo in older people and the incidence of falls due to dizziness.
- CGA for older people with dizziness and vertigo
- Design and application of rehabilitation therapy and techniques for fall prevention in older patients
- Recurrence and residual symptoms of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo in the elderly
- Diagnosis and treatment of presbyvestibulopathy and psychogenic vertigo in the elderly
- Vestibular testing and imaging in elderly patients with vertigo and dizziness
- Correlation between geriatric comorbidities and dizziness and vertigo
- Rapid identification of malignant vertigo in the elderly
- Development and use of balance and gait aids for the elderly
