The immune and endocrine are individually complex systems that interact with each other to form a more complex organization known as immunoendocrine system. This interaction implies the communication between both systems through hormones, cytokines, and molecules that serve as messengers on target cells. Several physiological conditions are finely regulated by this communication to promote homeostasis in several functions such as metabolism and reproduction. Immune tolerance is one of the mechanisms that have an important role in maintaining homeostasis. However, the breakdown of the different mechanisms of communication between immune and endocrine systems elicits the risk of developing inflammatory pathologies such as cancer. Both innate and adaptative immunity is involved in the initiation, promotion, and progression of cancer in which genetic, epigenetic, and proteomic alterations lead to a tumoral phenotype.

Aims:
- To understand better the interaction between immune and endocrine systems that drive to physiological or pathological conditions in which communication has an important role.
- To show pieces of evidence that allow a deeper comprehension of the mechanisms involved in the immune-endocrine cross-talk in reproductive biology and pathology, metabolic disorders, and the development of cancer.
- To review the state of the art in the development of strategies for prevention, techniques for diagnostic, and the development of improved therapies in immune-endocrine pathologies.
