About this Research Topic
The goal of this Research Topic is to gather studies on the role of ncRNAs in the tumor immune microenvironment of gastrointestinal cancers. This will ideally give us a better understanding of the regulation mechanisms of ncRNAs and provide us with important ideas to regulate the tumor immune microenvironment through altering the expression of the key ncRNAs to treat gastrointestinal cancers. Additionally, although immunotherapy has ushered in a new era of cancer treatment, limited understanding of the properties of the tumor immune microenvironment has largely hindered the development of new targets for immunotherapy. Therefore, we hope to gain a deeper insight into the tumor immune microenvironment in gastrointestinal tumors to open up new avenues for their immunotherapy in this Research Topic.
The scope of this topic is research on ncRNAs that are dysregulated in gastrointestinal cancers (including colorectal, gastric, oesophageal, pancreatic, and liver cancers) and involved in regulating their tumor immune microenvironment. We expect to construct ncRNA regulatory networks in the tumor immune microenvironment of gastrointestinal cancers, further elucidate the characteristics of the tumor immune microenvironment, and uncover ncRNAs that can serve as key targets as potential therapeutic targets for gastrointestinal tumors. We are interested in Original Research and Review articles including systemic review and meta-analysis focusing on:
• ncRNAs as potential therapeutic targets of gastrointestinal tumors by regulating immune cells in the tumor microenvironment.
• ncRNAs as key regulators of the tumor immune microenvironment of gastrointestinal tumors, including colorectal, gastric, oesophageal, pancreatic, and liver cancers.
• Studies on ncRNAs prognostic significance on gastrointestinal cancers progression or tumor suppression
Please note: manuscripts consisting solely of bioinformatics or computational analysis of public genomic or transcriptomic databases which are not accompanied by validation (independent cohort or biological validation in vitro or in vivo) are out of scope for this section and will not be accepted as part of this Research Topic.
