About this Research Topic
The diagnosis and treatment of retinal and choroidal diseases have progressed significantly in recent years. Not only optical coherence tomography (OCT) has made significant development in the last 20 years, but OCT angiography has also gained popularity worldwide. As a result, multimodal imaging has enhanced diagnostic accuracy and knowledge of pathology, also in case of systemic diseases, where ocular involvement could be significant.
The study of the retina and choroid of healthy people and in case of ocular and systemic diseases, or in case of specific medical treatments, through OCT and OCT angiography, could provide new information and scientific data to support physicians in their clinical practice
This Research Topic aims to increase the current knowledge of retinal and choroidal diseases, particularly in case of systemic diseases, in order to improve their management. Furthermore, investigations focusing on better understanding of healthy conditions and effects of medical treatments on these structures will be encouraged.
