About this Research Topic
The goal is to explore how the new technologies of digital health can help telecardiology in identifying specific clinical pathways in the management of heart disease. It is obvious that developments and implementations of both telecardiology and digital health have a lot of advantages and bring a great value for both cardiologists and patients, but the main question is how to incorporate them into the existing workflow successfully and what difficulties and challenges may occur. Several questions are still open. For example: how to improve the quality and affordability of healthcare with the help of new technologies? What innovations should healthcare professionals prioritize? How and which mobile health apps will be really useful in the post-pandemic period? In particular, which of the more than 325,000 health apps currently on the market will be able to promote greater patient involvement, better adherence to therapy, a healthy lifestyle, improve communication between doctor and patient, and implementation of health services (saving costs) and increase data available for research?
