Advanced Concretes and Their Structural Applications Construction materials play a critical role in building modern infrastructures that stand the test of time. In recent decades, novel advanced construction materials have emerged, such as high performance/smart concrete, fiber-reinforced concrete, high ductility concrete, high-strength concrete, etc. However, construction materials are still expected to achieve higher performances and functionalities in response to the ever-increasing demand of more durable, sustainable, resilient, energy-efficient infrastructures in modern society. Further research on the application of these advanced construction materials at structural and infrastructural scale is necessary. to fully demonstrate the benefits of these advanced construction technologies.
The goal of this Research Topic collection is to publish up-to-date research contributions related to the development of advanced concrete construction materials and their structural use in civil engineering applications. Specially, this collection will focus on the performance of advanced concrete construction materials and their structural behaviors. It will provide a platform for exchanging ideas, disseminating significant advances, and sharing concepts and visions in the field of advanced concrete construction materials. It is also expected to provide the reader a comprehensive view on the latest applications of these advanced materials.
We encourage submissions of comprehensive review papers and original research as well as perspective and mini-review relevant to this Research Topic. Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
