About this Research Topic

Manuscript Submission Deadline 30 April 2023
Manuscript Extension Submission Deadline 31 May 2023

Many emerging opportunities were brought by 6G and 5G technologies in Software Defined Networks and Network Function Virtualization, IoT networks, Edge computing, fog computing, multimedia, cloud and IoT collaborations, and wireless sensor networks.

Software-defined Networks (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) are two promising technologies that can achieve scalability and deployment flexibility. SDN/NFV can enable 5G and 6G services with reduced cost. However, migration can be time-consuming and costlier for full convergence of existing networks to SDN/NFV networks.

Blockchain technologies, deep learning, and post-quantum cryptography technologies are potentially serving as the foundation of future networks. Therefore, new insights are needed into these technologies to ensure trustworthiness in cutting-edge technologies.
The aim of this Research Topic is to provide a collection of high-quality research papers that report the latest research advances for the Design and Development of Next-generation Networks, Internet of Things, Multimedia and Blockchain Technologies.
Topics applicable to this Research Topic include but are not limited to:

• 6G and 5G Networks
