About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to bring together the results of fructose consumption and health, and also contributes to filling the gap in the knowledge about the pathogenic mechanism and the possible solutions and strategies of fructose intake associated disease.
Original Research article, Reviews and Short Communications are encouraged in this Special Issue entitled “Advances in fructose consumption and health”, and it covers wide research topics, including, but not limited to, the following:
• The influence of fructose consumption on health, including metabolic disease, oxidative stress, inflammation responses, renal injury and inflammatory bowel disease, and the associated pathogenic mechanism.
• The characteristics of fructose metabolism in vivo and the key signaling pathway.
• The interplay between fructose and gut-brain-liver axis.
• The new strategies and pharmacological mechanisms for preventing or treating fructose induced health issues.
Keywords: Fructose, Liver health, metabolic syndrome, Pathogenic mechanism, treatments and strategies
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements.
