Under the impact of the large-scale epidemic of COVID-19, the prevalence of anxiety and depression in the world has increased significantly. Exercise intervention based on the Internet and the application of wearable devices may play a greater role in the prevention and treatment of psychological disorders. Internet exercise intervention gets rid of the problem of time and space and realizes the liberalization of exercise. Wearable devices can track the exercise frequency, intensity, and time of trainers, which not only ensures the safety of exercise intervention but also promote the development of exercise behavior. In addition, devices like EEG, fNIRs can assess the central nervous system functionality during exergames.
At present, increasingly studies are devoted to studying the impact of exercise on mental health, but there are few studies on the impact of exercise intervention with the internet and wearable devices on mental health. The aim of this Research Topic is to provide a reference for researchers or colleagues in the field of public health and sports medicine.
