About this Research Topic
Mining is one of the most hazardous occupations. When basic requisites are not adequately respected, the lives of miners are directly and indirectly affected. Engineering and management risks often lead to problems related to complex mining operations, such as stability and miners' health. Therefore, research, application, and promotion of advanced technologies play an important role in improving safety in mines and in ensuring a safe and efficient mining operation.
This special issue aims to study the application of advanced technologies to solve the key safety problems related to mining. Original theoretical and applied research articles, review articles, and case studies are welcome. Potential topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Mining-Related Human Risk Factor Identification Technologies
• Miners Health Monitoring
• Artificial Intelligence Technology in Risk Management
• Smart and Sustainable Mining Technologies
• Engineering and Management Risks
• Occupational Health and Safety for Mine Workers
• Psychological Factors in Mine Workers' Safety
• Theories and Technologies for Safe and Intelligent Mining
• Socio-Economical Consequences of Mine Accidents.
Keywords: intelligent mining, mining accidents fatalities and injuries, artificial intelligence algorithms, human errors, human safe and unsafe acts, occupational hazards in mines, mining, mine safety, occupational hazards in mining, safety culture in mining industry
