In BPI varying degrees of paralysis and musculoskeletal system problems are seen in the upper extremity, depending on the nerve affected and the severity of the injury. BPI significantly affects the performance of the cases in Activities of Daily Living (ADL), school life, participation in activities in the community, choice of profession and psychological state from birth to adulthood. Implementation of early evaluation and treatment approaches in BPI is very important in terms of improving upper extremity functions and preventing possible problems. BPI treatment is highly complex and therefore requires a multidisciplinary approach. A detailed evaluation of upper extremity functions is required before creating a treatment program in BPI plexus injuries.
This research topic aims to explore conservative treatment, surgical treatment, and current rehabilitation approaches after surgical treatment in children with brachial plexus birth injuries. We are interested in original research, study protocols, case reports, mini-reviews, reviews and editorials pertaining to the aforementioned.
