Frontiers in Allergy is presenting this Research Topic focused on the translation of skin allergy research from 'evidence to practice'. Allergic skin disease affects a significant proportion of the global population from childhood to advanced age, and it is crucial that research data are conveyed and translated as accessible and practical information to allergists, dieticians, pharmacists, healthcare professionals and to the public.
This Research Topic seeks to highlight skin allergy research whereby basic research is translated into applicable results that directly benefit human health. We welcome contributions that explore translational research and practical applications in, but not limited to, the following subtopics:
· Urticaria
· Angioedema (mast-cell and bradykinin-mediated)
· Atopic Dermatitis
· Allergic Contact Dermatitis
· Photoallergic dermatitis
· Chronic pruritic skin diseases and chronic pruritus
· Skin Mastocytosis
Keywords:
Translational research, Skin allergy
Important Note:
All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
