Organizations are facing growing challenges in the post-pandemic era. To recover swiftly, organizations are seeking diversified strategies to create opportunities, which requires a strong organizational resilience capability. The term “organizational resilience” refers to ‘the inherent characteristics of those organizations that are able to respond more quickly, recover faster or develop more unusual ways of doing business under duress than others.’ While there is a considerable body of literature studying drivers of organizational resilience, a key internal driver, diversity, is left overall scarce.
Given that the impacts of diversity on organizational resilience are expected to be sizable, this Research Topic pushes the discussion on the relationship between diversity and organizations’ long-term resilience. We invite contributions that advance our insights into how organizations develop their diversities from various perspectives and promote organizations’ long-term development. Organizational diversity includes but not limit to board diversity, top management diversity, cultural diversity, gender diversity, human capital diversity, ethical diversity, network diversity, ownership diversity, employee diversity, and so forth.
We encourage all aspects of research on organizational diversity and resilience, which include but are not limited to:
• Impacts of board diversity on organizational resilience
• How diversity strategies are embedded into organizational resilience strategies
• Impacts of gender diversity on organizations’ long-term development
• Top management diversity and organizations’ performance
• Impacts of leadership diversity on organizational resilience
• How cultural diversity affects organizations’ long-term resilience
• Balance between sustainability diversity and organizational performance
• Impacts of human capital diversity on organizational resilience
• Interactions between social network diversity and organizational resilience
• Employee diversity strategy in the post-pandemic era
• Impacts of ethical diversity on organizations’ long-term resilience
