Frontiers in Clinical Diabetes and Healthcare is delighted to present the ‘2022 in Review’ series of article collections.

2022 in Review: Diabetes Inequalities will publish high-quality scholarly review papers on key topics relating to the socio-spatial mediation of inequalities in diabetes, differences in genetics, ethnicity, socioeconomic and environmental factors, and the distribution of health-related resources. It aims to highlight recent advances in the field, whilst emphasizing important directions and new possibilities for future inquiries. We anticipate the research presented will promote discussion in the scientific community that will translate to best practice applications in clinical, public health and policy settings.

The collection Reviews in 2022: Diabetes Inequalities welcomes full-length, mini or systematic review papers around any aspect of inequalities in diabetes. Themes around our most impactful research articles of 2022 will be welcomed; these include, but are not limited to:

Frailty and diabetes in older adults: Overview of current controversies and challenges in clinical practice

Unpacking determinants and consequences of food insecurity for insulin resistance among people living with HIV: Conceptual framework and protocol for the NOURISH-OK study

The Social and Emotional Well-being of Indigenous Peoples Living With Diabetes: A Systematic Review Protocol

New articles will be added to this collection as they are published.
