About this Research Topic
This topic aims at clarifying the role of the sympathetic nervous system on thermoregulatory function. Contributors would discuss how the skin sympathetic nerve activity including sudomotor and vasoconstrictor nerve activities influences the thermoregulatory system in humans.
Recent advances in sympathetic microneurography has achieved mainly in cardiovascular areas, however, thermoregulatory function in humans also regulated by sympathetic nervous system, mainly sweating and vasomotion. Microneurographically recorded skin sympathetic nerve activity plays a significant role in this thermoregulatory function, which has become a timely topic in the area of human thermoregulation.
