Climate change is one of the most serious challenges facing the world today, and countries around the world are trying to explore effective paths to achieve low-carbon development. With the in-depth application of digital technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence, the digital economy is becoming an emerging driver of economic and social development. This is put in contrast with traditional economies such as agricultural and industrial economies. It is worth noting that digitalization is becoming the leading force driving innovation and transformation. Digital technology has changed the way innovation factors are combined and reduced innovation transaction and contract costs, etc., thus improving the innovation capacity of enterprises and promoting low-carbon sustainable development. Therefore, in the context of global digitization, by exploring the mechanism and process of innovation for low-carbon sustainable development, we hope to find a way to achieve low-carbon development by optimizing innovation factors, which is of great significance for sustainable economic development at this stage.

This research topic is dedicated to encouraging research and practical experience in the fields of digitalization, innovation management and low carbon sustainability. We hope to raise public awareness on climate change brought upon by digitization and research to address the resulting innovation and low-carbon sustainability issues. We invite contributions on the areas of digitalization, innovation management and low carbon sustainability from the perspectives of digital technology applications, corporate decision making, innovation management strategies, and innovation policies, using original research, data analysis and evaluation methods. We welcome submissions from scholars of theoretical and empirical research, as well as creative approaches and critical reviews of interdisciplinary work.

We welcome research on topics including, but not limited to, the following:
1. Carbon emissions and management caused by the application of digital technology,
2. Socio-economic factors affecting low carbon sustainable development,
3. The role and mechanism of innovation in low-carbon sustainable development,
4. Digital economy, enterprise innovation and sustainable development,
5. Innovation and green economy recovery in the post-COVID-19 era,
